OSMOS began in 1997 as a project space in Berlin and was re-established in 2012 in New York as platform for curatorial and editorial activities. OSMOS currently has two locations: In New York City, OSMOS Address is located at 50 East 1st Street in an East Village storefront that was once a saloon frequented by Emma Goldman and other radicals; our project space OSMOS Station is located in the rural Catskills village of Stamford, NY. In addition, OSMOS publishes a thrice-yearly art magazine as well as artists’ monographs.
Over the past decade, OSMOS has developed a particular expertise in handling artists’ estates and reintroducing historic and previously overlooked artistic positions, especially constructivist and concrete tendencies, photography, and works by women artists, and occasionally works with younger artists that reinvigorate the historic legacies we champion.
