Eri Imamura
Artwork Description
In this piece, I represent our hope to heal and get back to our normal and safe lives. The female torso with a red rose pattern dress is hung on a manga bubble board covered with the same textile as the dress. On this female torso stands out a human lung that looks like cherry blossom (left side) and plum blossom (right side), the Japanese traditional sacred flowers. On the right shoulder, washing hands with bubbling soap are praying. On the waist of the torso, a red rose is a tribute to all medical professionals. Behind, the manga speech bubble-shaped board, symbols of the human-made world mix with red roses from the natural world.
